All items are hand made to order, very little is kept in stock, so please allow me a few days to make your items. I will keep you informed of progress and if you would like photos of your items being made, just ask.

Full description
Ten (5 pairs) of handmade to order Gimp Lace Bobbins. These bobbins are larger than a normal lace bobbin for use with the thicker gimp thread. The handle is smooth and ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use.
A longer spool, heavier weight and thicker wood differentiate these bobbins and they are designed to be used WITHOUT spangles. If you would like me to drill a hole for a spangle wire, this can be done for no extra charge if you send me a message.
These bobbins are all handmade and individually made and as such will have minor variations. I will pair them up as closely as possible but it is this individuality that sets them apart from factory made bobbins.
11 to 12cm long, slightly longer than my standard bobbins. The spool section is 6mm thick and the handle is approx 11mm thick. Weight approx 5g. On the photo, Cherry is on the left, Beech in the middle and Maple on the right, with Walnut underneath.
All my items are hand made to order in my small workshop in the West Pennine Moors of Lancashire using a vintage lathe made near Halifax, West Yorkshire and tools made from the finest Sheffield steel. I like to use local woods where possible and let the beauty of the wood shine through. I don't try to compete with factory made bobbins, I make the extra special bobbins that helps make your lacemaking so special - craftsman to craftsman.
