Full description
A small bass relief sculpture of a Cinnabar Moth on Ragwort, suitable for out door and indoor spaces, made of stoneware fired clay and hand painted with underglaze life-like colours. This sculpture celebrates the day time flying cinnabar moth, and its parent plant ragwort, unfairly persecuted by DEFRA. I made this at a time when I hadn't seen this moth in about 10 years, as living in the Devon countryside at the time, ragwort was pulled up by ill-informed people, including breaking into my garden to vandalise this native wild flower when it dared to raise its head. Another instance where a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!
Affordable art at only 54 including postage and packing, measuring 12cm x 12cm x 3cm, or roughly the size of a hand.
