Many are used to seeing Kingfishers on our rivers and streams in the summer, but most don't realise that they generally do not leave the UK in the winter, but instead move closer to the sea where the water doesn't freeze over. This can sometimes lead to large populations along our coasts and estuaries. Spare a thought for our Kingfishers when you are tucked up nice and warm this winter, and keep an eye out for a flash of blue and turquoise if you live near the coast. Put one in your tree to remind you of the summer yet to come!

Full description
A high fired, hand painted, porcelain decoration of a kingfisher, (some male and some female; see if you can spot which is which!), measuring 7.5cm x 9cm, and hanging from a coloured, waxed, strong cotton cord. Being high fired, these are very durable, and make a nice chiming noise, if they touch other hard decorations. More pictures to follow shortly.
