I just really like project bags but I couldn't always find colours or patterns that I like. I tend to like vintage fabrics or styles. I only like drawstring bags (had a few zip vs yarn disasters in my time) so I decided to make them for myself, and well... turns out they're really fun to make.
I source fabric from places like a local specialist craft charity shop, remainder sections in shops or destashes. The fabrics I go for are always in short supply and I like that, I love that there will only ever be a very limited number of any design. It makes them special to me.

Full description
For the sun loving crafter these all cotton box bottom project bags in cheery yellow with white polka dots are a taste of summer.
I've chosen a nice strong yellow colour for the base, drawstring case and handle and a neutral beige drawstring. The lining is bright yellow cotton. There are three nice roomy pockets for your bits and bobs and the bags themselves are on the generous side.
The large comfortably holds 5-6 skeins of 4plyfingering weight yarn, the medium holds 3-4 and the small holds 1-2. I would say the large is good for sweater projects or shlankets, the medium for cropped sweaters or average size shawls and the small suits socks or hats or any smaller project really. I'm not here to tell you what to do.
All three bags squish down nicely when empty but the box bottom means they sit nicely when in use.
The dimensions given here are approximate, they're handmade so may vary a little from bag to bag but not by enough to worry about.
Large (sweater) : 13 x 10 x 5"
Medium (shawl) : 12 x 8 x 4 "
Did I mention I only made one of each size? No? Well that's right, only one of each so if you fancy one best strike while the iron's hot.
