I had a customer ask me to make an enormous (2.5M) pink & purple squid from the Coraline movie. I loved illustrator Tadahiro Uesugi artwork in the film & in particular how these 3 characters looked. That first commission inspired me to have a go a create something different with it's roots in the film.

My crochet soft toys will all eventually become floppy with lots of love & play. This is to be expected & does not qualify as a fault.

This set of 3 slightly deviant & rather diferently fabulous crochet baby lovies is unique.
Created freeform; that's crochet without a pattern so no 2 are ever the same
I've taken the theme of the Coraline movie & run with it. This set is one-of-a-kind.
There's something rather irresistible about the floppy, snugglyness of these lovies, so cuddly. 'Coraline's' yellow coat is fully removable. So blue jeans & stripy top, or hood up & ready for the outdoors, you choose the look.
Selling as a set of 3 lovies that are perfect for alternative mums & dads who perhaps are Coraline fans, or who fancy something completely unexpected & unlike the more traditional baby themed lovies..
Made using new double knitting acrylic wool & filled with microfiber toy stuffing.
I believe in meticulously sewing my characters together, attention to detail & safe stitching means a lot to me. These lovies don't have any plastic eyes or buttons. I make everything from crochet stitches & that includes the "eyes", the squid's big pink 'button, right down to the little black button on Coraline's dark red satchel.
I even go so far as to encapsulate the stuffing in the hands, feet & cat paws. I feel happiest knowing the stuffing is completely encased so fibers can't be drawn out accidentally though wider stitches in the upper arms & legs.
