WaylandCraft is a small creative space full of handmade, transformational & eclectic creations. I also love the challenge of commissioned requests & I'm always very happy to hear from people.

I'm a disabled neurotypical crafter... my superpower is the ability to be completely & utterly absorbed in my projects while the world moves around me.

I'm a 4th generation yarn & fabric lover & I've been making things since I was very young. I appear to have a combined yarn & fabric stash which with its sheer enormity appears to warp the fabric of time... or at least that's my excuse, because every time I delve into it I always seem to lose a disproportionate number of hours.

I have a love & a fascination in all types of handcrafted creativity, whether it's rejuvenating an old jacket with dye & beads or making a crochet dinosaur character for someone to love & hug.

I can find joy & inspiration in pretty much anything; colour, colour ALWAYS makes me joyful! But, I suppose my crafting enjoyment mostly comes from making something beautiful & the meditative acts of repetition that are often involved in making something by hand. I love the restful & contemplative stillness I get in that extraordinary bubble of concentration. Whether I'm making a new item from scratch or working on something I'm remagining.

I also use my creative skills volunteering in support of adults with learning disabilities. I have experience using sensory aids in both LD & dementia so I also make handmade one-of-a-kind sensory items which will be available in my shop. I'm always very happy to chat if you require anything specific in this area.

What you get from me are products that are made with a great deal of love. Each item is unique & I'll often add my own detailed flourishes even when producing an item from a pattern designed by others.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't stress-test my products but where any use, purpose or additional information affects how an item should be considered then I'll highlight it. All of the yarn characters I make are stringently sewn together. I don't use plastic eyes or embellishments on items aimed solely for babies. Other items & yarn characters will indicate if plastic eyes or embellishments are used. Customers should please be advised that ANY items with plastic embellishment are not suitable for children under 3-years of age.
