Full description
Curved sherds of earthenware to enliven your meal - this palm dish, after the Cherhill White Horse, would make a fine home for your rings while you get on with the washing up, or a lovely plate for the biscuit to accompany your cuppa.
Measuring just under 9cm across, these terra cotta earthenware picture plates bear motifs of nature, cycles, life and death. Each one is hand carved and then painted, before being inlaid with oxide washes and finally glaze fired. The theme of each motif continues to the reverse, which is textured with custom made rollers and impression tools.
The handbuilt, earthy style rejects the confines of machined symmetry, instead offering interesting visual lines and tactile satisfaction.
You will receive one dish, as above, please note each is hand carved and painted - no two are exactly alike.
