HANDMADE SET OF SIX X 2CM DORSET BUTTONS
This listing is for six 2cm Dorset crosswheel buttons with 12 spokes. I made these by using various techniques of winding a stunning variegated silk thread around metal rings. I have incorporated integral thread shanks on the back for easy attachment to your project. These are a lovely variegated blue and turquoise. This high quality thread has a lovely sheen and being silk, is very durable.
They could be used as functional buttons or as a decorative feature on bags, clothing, headbands etc. or could be made into jewellery.
The creation of Dorset buttons was originally a large cottage industry in Dorset, England between 1622 and 1850, after which they were overtaken by machine-made buttons.
These buttons measure 2cm (.75") in diameter.
