Since I was a little kid I've always been fascinated by the art work on old buildings, especially the carved heads. One my daily walk to school I passed two everyday and always looked up at them, I still see them from time to time, and give them a nod. If you look in any British town or city they are everywhere. The Hunky Punks and Gargoyles on churches and cathedrals looking down and pulling faces amaze me. I know I'll never be as good as the masons of old but I thought I'd try to make them out of clay and turn them to stone. During lockdown I had time to make the first ones. To be honest they were not very good, but I kept going and I think some, if not all are passable. The thing is with with stone heads on old buildings you never get that close as they are often high above, so I think thats how they should be viewed and the photos with high pixels don't them justice. I also have a BA Hons in Art History and sculpture was always one of my favorite subjects.
