I enjoy stitching landscape designs - this one on an appliqued backgroud. Themes are repeated, but no two are ever exactly the same. Similar designs also feature on felt bookmarks listed in this shop.

Full description
An atmospheric design featuring an undulating moorland of heathers and new bracken fronds, with a windswept tree and a conifer plantation in the background.
The 'bare landscape' of this design has been created by appliqueing scraps of felt onto a pale sky blue felt background which, in turn, is backed by a circle of thick felt interfacing. The scraps of felt are from commercial offcuts and my own felt scraps and the interfacing is a commercial offcut . Details of the design have been added in simple hand embroidery using threads (some of which are vintage) and using vintage 3 ply wool. The design has been edged by couching over twists of wool in purple and pale blue to match the areas of the design.
The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.
Height (excluding hanging loop) - 12.5 cm approx.
