New shoots on ferns are called Fiddlenecks due to their resemblance to a 'Fiddle's' neck shape, curling round and under, they are covered in tiny hairs and unfurl into flat fronds bowing down and out from the center.
Fern leaves work so well for Cyanotype, where their distinctive feathery edges are captured by the sun on the paper, leaving an unmistakable impression. Thank You Ferns x

Botanical Art in Contemporary Green 'Bobble' Edge Frame.
A sweet fern adorned with simple embroidery stitches on its stem. A staple in my garden ferns fill the shady corners with their shapley fronds, and after being trimmed back in spring, they soon send new shoots up which unfurl and spread into beautiful new lush green leaves. This photogram would be a lovely gift for a Gardener, and add some botanical charm to a family room or workspace.
This has a sister photogram also in a Green Bobble edge frame.

Created on 300gsm acid-free, watercolour paper.
Named 'Grace' numbered and signed on the reverse, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity as an Original Artwork 1/1
The pretty Green bobble-edged frame with white mount enhances this simple botanical with embroidery.
The frame is glazed with GLASS.
The frame measures 17 x 21 x 1.5 cm and is fitted with a hinged rear stand ready to sit on a shelf dresser or side table. (It also has a small hook for hanging)
The aperture size is 12 x 17cm.
It will be well-wrapped and placed in a box for postage via Parcel Force tracked.
Colour and contrast may vary slightly from the image on the screen due to the monitor/screen settings.
