This is the second in a series of my Earth and Moon pieces. Again, two were made in this colour scheme, but they were never identical due to the fused glass's nature.

Full description
Fused Glass Pendant of the Planet Earth with 3D cloud details. Finished with dichroic glass to add a bit of sparkle, The pendant is 5cm in diameter by 6mm. on a silver-plated neck-ring The neck-ring is 13cm in diameter and 3mm thick
I based this piece on an image of the Earth taken from space. I made the base by fusing opaline glass with light blue powdered glass dusting for the oceans. Another layer of various blue powders was added to give the sea depth. Then, the next layer of several different coloured powders was added to represent the continents, firing the piece after each layer was added. White glass powder was added to represent the cloud formation, and it took three layers to get the 3D effect I desired. For the final firing, dichroic essence was lightly brushed over it. This took me a week to complete
