This is the first in a series of prints around the theme of Myths and Legends.
Lady Godiva was an 11th century noblewoman who was married to Leofric, the Lord of Coventry. She rode through the streets naked as a protest against her husband raising taxes. Everyone was ordered to shutter their windows to preserve her dignity. All did this apart for one man called Tom. Legend has it that this is where the phrase ‘Peeping Tom,’ comes from.
The image is unframed. It is printed on Lokta paper which is 100% sustainably produced from shrubs grown in Nepal.
The print area is approximately 21 x 21 cm and the overall paper size is approximately 30 x 30 cm. As with all handmade, printed items, intensity of tone and marks may vary from print to print, making each print unique.
