I got sick of things falling off hangers in my wardrobe I decided to rectify it. The inspiration was the beautiful fabric covered hangers that I’ve seen. These are slightly better at gripping the clothes, even satiny light fabrics stay in place on these.

Full description
This is a pretty but practical item in a mix of blue, green, light brown and primrose yellow. It has been really difficult to capture the true colours.
I've taken a wooden crescent clothes hanger and wrapped it in i-cord (french knitted cord) made with a multicoloured acrylic yarn. I hand stitched the yellow/green floral lace over the base. The colours of the yarn and lace really compliment each other.
The benefit of using a padded hanger is it holds clothes better, even lightweight silk or satin items will be kept in place. As the ends are padded it is less likely to cause stretchy materials to get bumps and lumps where the hanger ends. I know I've taken t-shirts off cheap thin hangars and the shape of the hanger is still in the fabric!

I have used some glue to hold the wrap in place and stop it unraveling or moving too much, but I've kept it to the minimum and hand stitched it where possible.
The width of this is Approx 16 inches 42 cm.
