Another of my inspirations come from living by the coast for 17 years. I love spending time by the sea and find it very calming. Hearing the sea meet the shore, sometimes gently, sometimes with more force, evokes memories of walks along the beach or watching storms roll in (from a safe distance). I am always in awe of Mother Nature with both her delicateness and her strength. As a child I loved collecting shells and I guess that could be my inspiration for the shell paintings I create. I also love creating seascapes too when the urge takes me.

"The Splash" by Victoria Fletcher
Summer at the coast... The waves are crashing upon the sandy beach - I could watch them for hours; ebbing and flowing with a sense of urgency as the wild horses of the sea rush to the shore, then gently retreat. I imagine the sea's emotional outbursts as the spray splashes my face, whilst I search for the perfect cockle shell.
This mixed media painting was created by combining acrylic paints with real shells, dried grasses and netting on a 10cm canvas before it was gloss varnished and framed in a simple white box frame, making the overall size of the artwork 18x18cm.
The artwork will be presented in a brown box on arrival, with recycled cardboard strips to cushion its transport. This allows for a secure transport and the easy wrapping if it is to be a gift.
It is advised that the painting is not kept in a room that is subject to high humidity such as a laundry room or bathroom.
