Striking and original slender basket, ideal for holding nuts, pens, pencils, all the keys and things out of your pockets, or as a smartphone holder charging station.
Made with sweetly scented willows with different colours of willow bark. I try to make contrasts of colours within each basket to highlight the different shades of willow. If you would like all the bark to be similar colours please contact me.
The baskets are made using all natural willow organically grown in Scotland by me. Willow is a natural and renewable resource, being cut every winter once the leaves have fallen, then graded ready for use in basketry.

I make functional baskets and teach traditional basketry in Edinburgh and beyond. I make these baskets in my workshop overlooking the sea, as a way of highlighting my beautiful homegrown willow varieties. The willow is soaked in water for a few days then left overnight to mellow before it is ready to use... to make into this exquisite piece for you!
