For the love of Horses!
Making this cushion was an utter pleasure. I totally love horses and as a family we have been lucky enough to have quite a few, including one Cob. The flowing, mane, full feathers and white face of this Cob is the stuff little girls (and grown up ones) dream of.
I think most likely, I was creating something that I would chose to own or be delighted to receive as a gift.

Full description
This cushion has a unique applique 'Gypsy Cob' design. The applique has been created from various fabrics both patterned and plain to accentuate the silhouette of the horse and show off the white feathers and blaze.
The design is shown off perfectly by the vibrant red background which has been free motion quilted with a delicate pattern, stitched in a darker shade of red. This creates a subtle yet intricate texture and gives it a luxurious feel.
Finally, accentuated with a matching pom-pom trim along its edges, providing a playful and tactile border that contrasts with the smooth central design. The cushion has a concealed zip and comes complete with an inner pad. It measures 38cm x 38 cm
I think anyone who loves horses, especially cobs would love to receive this cushion as a gift. With it's unique design it would make a statement piece in a Bedroom, Sitting Room or Conservatory.
