The Tyne Bridge has been a part of my life since I was a child. My Mam used to take the lift to the Quay Side, where she worked, as a young girl. It is similar in design to the Sydney Harbour Brige and indeed was designed by the same company, Mott, Hay and Anderson. Completed on 25 February 1928, and officially opened on 1 October that year by King George V and Queen Mary, who were the first to use the roadway, travelling in their Ascot Landau.
The Tyne Bridge's towers were built of Cornish granite and were designed by local architect Robert Burns Dick as warehouses with five storeys. But, the inner floors of the warehouses in the bridge's towers were not completed and, as a result, the storage areas were never used. A lift for passengers and goods was built in the North tower to provide access to the Quayside; it is no longer in use.

Full description
This is my take on the iconic Tyne Bridge which crosses over from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Gateshead. My designs are abstract in nature but gives the feel of the solidness of the structure with the River Tyne flowing underneath.
The original drawing is in print form and signed. Printed on high quality 250gsm card. They are are mounted on thick card and delivered in a protective cover and hard backed envelopes. Each print in my collection is A4 size.
