I set out to make a contemporary style brooch which could be used on fine fabrics such as silk.
I think spirals are universally popular so started forming some enamelled wire into an asymetric spiral shape , then hammered the wire for an interesting effect.
the addition of the dichroic glass bead enhanced the green and added an exciting sparkle.

This large modern brooch has been handcrafted using green enamelled aluminium wire which has been formed into a spiral shape, then partially hammered for an interesting texture.
A dichroic glass accent bead has been included for further interest.
It is about 2 inches across in all directions
It is a magnetic brooch which means it can be used to decorate and secure fine fabrics such as silk which would normally snag if a standard pin was used
The magnets are also strong enough for use on heavier fabrics - in all a very versatile accessory and great gift
(Please note children should not be allowed to play with magnets in case of swallowing, and those wearing a pacemaker are advised to avoid wearing magnets)
This brooch would make an original gift for birthday, anniversary or Xmas, and comes presented in a gift box.
