I've been striving for a long time to find my niche, to create work that's unique. I think I've found it! I love the idea of combining media, of mixing embroidery with other media. For a while, I've been using some old nature-themed digital artwork. A month or so, I decided to create painted base artwork, using watercolour, pencil, crayon and other painting media. it's been fun experimenting.

The base artwork is a watercolour abstract in three jewel tints: magenta, sea blue, and teal green. I rubbed on white crayon first, to create a resist, then used simple brushstrokes in a random criss-cross. It's printed on 100gsm hammer white paper, which is just right for this kind of work.
