I am old enough to remember the days when children used dip pens and fountain pens in school. I had my first fountain pen at the age of 11. Then came the ballpoint pen, and fountain pens fell out of favour. Some years later, tired of disposable ballpoints, I bought an inexpensive, beautiful fountain pen and rediscovered the joy of writing with a well-designed nib and gorgeous inks.
Dismayed at the thought of millions of disposable plastic pens going into landfill, I started collecting vintage fountain pens - both beautiful and a joy to use. As my little collection grew I needed something to store my treasures in, but couldn’t find anything I liked that wasn’t made abroad and incurred prohibitive postage charges. So, I decided to design and make some cases and pen rolls and, through trial and error, I produced those listed here, which are perfect for my needs: lightweight, protective, attractive, and fitting homes for my pens. I hope you will like them, too.

My pen rolls hold 7 pens beautifully but aren’t too bulky. The Tristan has a tapestry outer (80% cotton/20% polyester), with 100% cotton lining and pen loops The inner section is sewn onto a wadding interlining which cushions and protects the pens and also adds a quilted appearance. The pen ‘pockets’ are separated from each other with two rows of reinforced stitching which provides strength, makes rolling up easier, allows the pens to nestle into each other, and will withstand the wear and tear of daily use. The top flap covers the pen clips and prevents pens from slipping out when you’re on the move. A simple tape of natural linen twill, knotted at the end and tucked into itself, provides a fuss-free closure.
Care: can be hand- or machine-wash at 30°C or less (higher temperatures may affect the interlinings).
This case is slightly smaller than the standard Tristan so may well suit you better if you have vintage or non-chunky pens.

Length when open: 41.0 cm; Height: 19.5 cm. Pen slots: Height: 14.3 cm. Width (of each slot): 6 x 30 mm slots and 1 33 mm slot.
Can house pens up to: 17 mm CAP diameter.
What’s in the box: One pen roll. Pens are NOT included.
P & P: Pen cases will be wrapped in tissue paper and posted in a ColomPac planet-friendly, climate neutral box. At present, I post to the UK & USA, tracked and signed-for. I also post to Australia: please contact me to arrange.
