Agate is a form of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family.
It is one of the oldest known minerals, used by the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians for ornaments and amulets.
Agate is the ancient birthstone for June and Gemini.
Agate in grey shades symbolise stability and strength, while the warmer tones of brown, cream and amber add a connection to nature.
Botswana Agate is believed to have a calming and soothing effect, helping to release negative energy and promoting a sense of peace and tranquility.

Full description
This necklace of Botswana Agate beads has a centrepiece of five 6-8mm nuggets, separated by 2mm sterling silver spacers and bracketed by 7mm Tibetan silver flower beads.
The necklace then graduates to 6mm and 4mm Botswana Agate rounds and finishes with a Tibetan silver rose toggle clasp.
This clasp is easy to fasten and is nickel and lead free.
The semi-translucent Botswana Agate beads are mainly in shades of soft grey, with some cream, white, amber and brown tones.
The flower beads are nickel and lead free.
This would make a lovely birthday present, anniversary gift, friendship gift, or simply a well-earned treat for yourself.
Handcrafted (by me!) in my home workshop here in Devon, UK
This necklace measures approximately 17 inches (43cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
