Full description
This is a cyanotype of a carving on the grave of the English writer, philosopher, art historian, art critic and polymath John Ruskin. It is situated in the churchyard of St Andrew's in Coniston, Cumbria. This carving is of the Lion of St Mark, a symbol of the city of Venice, and it represents Ruskin's book on Venetian art and architecture, The Stones of Venice.
I made this cyanotype from a photograph taken on my phone. It has been printed on 300gsm acid-free watercolour paper (I usually use Hahnemule or Bockingford). The size is A4 (29.7 cm height x 21 cm width). It would look great in an a3 frame with an a4 mount.
Each print is slightly different due to variations in the cyanotype process.
The print comes with a backboard to protect it and is sealed in a fully recyclable protective bag.
Postage is free with this cyanotype. Your artwork will be sent with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
Please note the price does not include a mount or frame.
Mockup frames are for illustration only and some of them are not the size of this cyanotype. This cyanotype is currently only available in A4.
