I like to use texture and shadow to create the effect for these pieces. I like the way the absence of colour draws attention to the light and shade.
This piece is made from small squares of air drying clay, rolled, cut, and textured by hand to create a unique design.

Full description
This original framed piece was created using air dried clay with each piece individually, shaped and textured by hand. The wooden frame has a perspex front and measures 20.5cm x 15.5 cm x 3.5cm.
