This panel is based on three of the Stones of Stenness, a Neolithic site in Orkney.
Three standing stones are cut from a translucent pale brown streaky glass. A rippled turquoise for the sea and a swirled green for the grassy foreground.
The sky is cut from a clear glass with the most delicate wispy grey through it, looking almost like smoke, perfect for depicting a moody Scottish sky.
Please see my other listing for alternative colour way.
Once cut the edges of each piece are ground then surrounded with copperfoil, placed together and soldered into position. To give a substantial weight and pleasing feel to the panel I have added a lead edge which is then soldered and cemented.
Hooks have been added for hanging this panel in your window.
This looks great in different light levels, making it a moody piece.
