I was asked by someone who knew I could sew if I could make a special keepsake bear. Having developed a pattern and made one I was hooked on how much of a privilege it is to be trusted with precious memories and preserving them for the future. I take this responsibility very seriously and the reactions I have had from people receiving their bears has been joyous as well as very genuinely moving.
This item will be posted to you by Born Again Bears within 3 days of receiving payment.

Additional terms
Please allow 2 weeks for completing and posting a custom made bear. I will need you to post me 2 items of clothing, as a guide, although we can discuss specifics. Bears are to be paid for through Folksy on Paypal.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

I can make a bear for you from your own precious items of clothing.
Instead of keeping pieces of clothing tucked away why not have a lovely bear created specially for you to keep close as a memory of loved ones or a special time in your past.
These 'Born Again' bears are made to your requirements and as examples I have included photos of commissions, the bears here are not for sale . These have included bears made from jumpers, shirts, football shirts, nightdresses from lost loved ones as well as a keepsake first nurse's uniform.
The bears are approx. 15" tall and have a safety joint in the neck, button jointed arms and stitched in legs so they sit down nicely and are posable. They have beautiful English glass eyes stitched in to sculpt the face and hand embroidered nose and mouth.
I always like to include a small cushion which has any left over scraps of fabric inside as stuffing. This is something your bear can sit on but also you can keep adding your own memories to this with pinned on pieces of jewellery or buttons etc.
As you can see from the photos I have included hand knitted items for the bears such as cardis, waistcoats and scarves. These are available if you would like them and made to suit each bear. Please note these bears are not intended as toys and therefore not suitable for children under the age of 14 years old.
