Inspired by walks along my local Yorkshire beck and riverbank where I am lucky enough to often see kingfishers patiently perched amongst the marginal plants of the riverbank with common blue damselflies zig zagging by.

Delicate in appearance but strong and durable enough for everyday use, this fine bone china mug featuring my watercolour illustrations of kingfishers, damselflies and plants from the riverbank makes a lovely Father's Day gift or mug for British bird lovers.
My watercolour paintings of patiently waiting kingfishers perched amongst Yorkshire fog grass, yellow flag iris and electric blue damselflies have been professionally printed onto ceramic transfers which are cut and applied by hand to create the finished design. The design reaches around the outside of the mug with detail in the interior. After decorating, this British bird design mug is fired in my own small electric kiln to 800°C making it dishwasher safe.
