Full description
With lots of colour and texture this original artwork of a coastal scene has been made using a needle felting process. Barbed felting needles have been used to bind strips of silk, and wool and silk fibres together to create the picture without the need for stitching. Strips of silk fabric have been used for the main picture with wool and silk fibres used to blend the colours. A piece of hand made felt has been used for the headland and silk cocoon fibres used for the surf. The birds have been added using black thread.
The picture has been framed in a simple black frame with a double white/black card mount. The reverse of the frame has both a hanging loop and a prop stand allowing it to be hung on the wall or stood on a shelf. The frame is 8" x 6" with the picture size being 6" x 4".
Please note: the picture is glazed but the glass has been removed for the photos to avoid unwanted reflections.
