Welcome to my Folksy shop, Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope a little virtual visit will raise a smile.

All orders are sent via 1st Class Royal Mail standard service. The postage costs applied reflect the protective packaging used to ensure your Utterly Pottery goodies arrive in tip top condition. Therefore, should you place an order rest assured, it will arrive beautifully wrapped and protected topped off with colourful tissue paper. Where possible I reuse and recycle plastic bubble wrap as I find it offers the best protection for my handmade and handpainted ceramics.

I’m always happy to add a handwritten gift note if you’d like to send the order directly to the recipient. Please include the message as you check out.

Many Thanks, Lucy

Full description

Made from white earthenware clay, these textured brooches are handmade from start to finish. Initially texture is applied to the surface of the clay using a decorative wooden block with an agapanthus design. Each piece is then air dried for several days before being kiln fired to form bisqueware.

Next to the fun bit, applying colour! I hand paint each brooch using a combination of traditional echinacea coloured underglazes. Before dipping in a glossy transparent glaze and firing for the final time. A brooch pin is then attached to the reverse and ta-da it’s ready to wear!

Please note each brooch is completely unique due to the making process. Therefore the sizes and designs are not necessarily uniform.

Each round brooch is approximately 4.5cm in diameter
