I found this jelly roll at a sale and immediately thought how suitable it was for a design for a man, which is rare! It is also suitable for those affected by the loss of the winter fuel allowance.

Full description
A lap quilt suitable for winter warmth in a difficult time for the elderly and those struggling financially. The geometric blues and browns in this quilt are available as a 'jelly roll', which is a roll of coordinating fabrics each 2.5 inches wide. These strips are sewn together into a long band, interspersed with squares of colour for contrast. The sides are then sewn together, reducing the length by half each time, until the desired size is achieved. In this example, the maroon used for the contrasting squares is also utilized for the border. The backing is a plain grey, while the wadding is a cotton-bamboo blend, offering lightness and warmth. Rather than the edges being bound, this quit is bagged out and stitched round before being quilted. Measuring 96 x 120 cm, it's the perfect size for a lap quilt, or a shoulder wrap and its colours make it suitable for a gentleman.
