Full description
This stained glass panel incorporates a fused glass insert of a green dragonfly amongst the reeds, inside a border of textured clear and green transparent art glass. I made the fused insert first, choosing a very dark green for the dragonfly body, and clear with an iridescent sheen for the wings. The panel was constructed using traditional centuries-old leaded stained glass techniques. The lead came is cut and shaped to fit each piece of glass, then soldered in place, and the whole piece cemented to provide strength, then finally black-leaded and polished.
The panel measures 21 x 19cm approx. It looks lovely displayed on a windowsill, or somewhere the light can catch it.
Note: The lead frame is perfectly safe to handle, as long as it is not ingested, but please wash hands after handling.
