I think magnolias are regal. Near my house we have a country estate and there are two times of the year when magnolias bloom. The whole walled garden is awash with magnolias swaying in the light breeze as though they are dancing to the rhythm of a waltz. Magnolias are also one of the first flowers even before bees existed and were fertilized by beetles. It is such an ancient tree that this was the year to draw and celebrate them.
