Jade is a rare material. The Chinese have revered it since it's discovery in Burma. Top-quality jadeite is rare and expensive.Jade is believed to bless whoever it touches. One of the most valued Gemstones in the world, Burmese Jadeite gemstone is said to provide vast healing properties. By wearing Burmese Jadeite it is believed it's benefits will include, prosperity in health and wealth, and a soothing sense of calm and protection.
The term 'jade' is actually a catch-all term that encompasses two separate minerals: nephrite, which is more opaque and traditionally used for sculptural objects and ornaments; and jadeite, which is more translucent and can be polished to a high lustre, making it more ideal for jewellery.
