Both Peridot and Black Spinel are traditional birthstones for August and Leo.
Peridot is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant lime-green hue.
The Peridot ovals are a little paler, with good clarity and occasional inclusions.
Black Spinel is very durable and has high reflectance, meaning these beautifully cut cube beads have lots of sparkle and shine.

Delicate and sparkly necklace of Peridot, Black Spinel and Onyx.
Alternating rows of 6x4mm Peridot ovals and 3.25mm AAA grade faceted Peridot are separated by 2.5mmAAA grade Black Spinel cubes, highlighted with tiny 2mm gold vermeil spacers which accentuate the green of the Peridot beads and add warmth and shine.
The flat ovals have good clarity, and the micro-faceted beads have good sparkle.
The faceted Black Spinel cubes have a lots of sparkle and shine.
The warmth of the gold vermeil beads bring out the colour of the Peridot and add to the shine.
The necklace graduates to 4mm black Onyx brightened with a few more faceted Peridot beads, and fastens with a gold vermeil toggle clasp.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, a higher quality, more durable finish than ordinary gold plated items.
Both Peridot and Spinel are birthstones for August and Leo, making this perfect for an August birthday gift.
It would also make a lovely anniversary gift, friendship gift, or simply a well-earned treat for yourself.

This elegant necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches (42cm).
