I started teaching myself the art of wood carving in October 2023, and when starting up my new social media pages to share my work I thought I should design a logo for myself too. I absolutely adore frogs and toads, so I knew that `i wanted my new project name to have something to do with amphibians, and thus ‘The Whittling Toad’ was created. Lots of lovely people asked if I’d ever make a t-shirt of my toad design, so here it is!
Before I embarked on my whittling journey, I was an illustration artist. I used to own and run a clothing and illustration shop called Hash Brown Club, and I loved creating funny and quirky t-shirt designs, so I thought that I’d bring a bit of my old life into the new and start creating some t-shirts again.

The Whittling Toad is the creation of Ren Stedman, a wood carving artist and amphibian enthusiast. Now you can wear the mascot toad and show your support for both toads and Ren’s work.
Printed on Gildan Heavy Tee’s, these are super comfy and soft as heck because they’re 100% cotton - the only thing softer than cotton is a bearded collies beard - FACTS.
