Hello! For those who don’t know me, my name is Ren and my best friend is my crazy deerhound lurcher, Simba. I’ve been posting my journey of learning how to whittle since October. I’ve always loved making art but only started learning to whittle in October 2023 when my Mum gifted me my first carving knife.

I used to be a touring musician, and an illustration artist. But my health got really bad a couple of years ago and it meant I couldn’t play gigs anymore. I spent so much time working on my illustrations whilst in hospital for most of 2023 that the thought of sitting by myself drawing for another second made me want to stomp around the house screaming at the walls. So I thought I should learn how to do something new. I decided that I wanted to learn how to whittle!
