I sourced the beautiful ethnic Kazakh beads from a shop in Turkey and when I received them I found they were even more beautiful than the photos. I didn’t want to detract from them in any way so chose the blue African trade beads and sodalite to pick up the blue enamel in the central bead. I added the decorative copper disks to introduce a flash of brighter colour.

Stunning chunky beaded necklace which showcases the wonderful craftsmanship of artisan makers from two different continents.
This bold ethnic style chunky beaded necklace showcases three large ethnic Kazakh beads intricately featuring silver, brass and blue enamel. The brass element is echoed by the hand made brass beads which are still made in Ghana using the ancient lost wax technique. The blue enamel is picked up in the blue and white African donut shaped trade beads and the sodalite round beads. The final element is the flashes of bright copper in the form of decorative disk shaped beads.
The necklace is 48 cm long and is finished with a brass toggle fastener.
