Full description
These rustic little earrings have been made using sea glass collected locally in the Scottish Highlands. Each earring features a small turquoise-green piece of sea glass, and a little copper disc with a blue-green patina. The hooks have been handmade in sterling silver 925. They measure just under 3.5cm from the top of the hook, and have a 'dangle length' (from the bottom of the hook) of around 1.5cm.
The sterling silver and copper components of these earrings have been oxidised using liver of sulphur, while ammonia vapour, water and salt have been used to achieve the blue-green patina on the copper discs. The copper elements have then been sealed with Renaissance Wax to preserve the patina and prevent the copper turning green over time. To keep the finish looking its best, it's recommended to remove the earrings before showering or swimming etc.
All my jewellery packaging is biodegradable.
