Hello, and welcome to my little shop! My name is Carrie, and this is where I sell my various handmade creations, including jewellery, woollen items, and other decorative things.
I live in the North of Scotland, where I work out of my tiny cabin (‘The Bothy’). My biggest challenge is space, so I split my work between the cabin and a little workbench in the back of my Renault Kangoo van. This is where I take all of my noisy or dusty work, like drilling sea glass, or sawing and polishing metal – thus leaving my sleepy Bothy Cats, Willow and Pixie, undisturbed!
I love all things earthy and rustic, and I try to include natural elements in the things I make. My jewellery is made using recycled sterling silver or copper, and incorporates sea glass I collect myself from local Highland beaches. My other passion is working with natural fibres, particularly rustic (preferably local) wool. I love Fair Isle and Norwegian stranded knitting, usually using Shetland wool, and I also enjoy spinning my own yarn on an old Haldane Shetland spinning wheel. I couldn’t make an online shop without leaving room for some woolly goodness!
When I’m not busy making, I’m often out scouring the local beaches for treasures – sea glass, shells, driftwood and little hagstones, or I’m looking after my bee hives and small allotment plot.
