Full description
Needlecases are one of my most favourite things to make and this one was no exception. The civer is made from a piece of vintage quilt that I've decorated with kantha stitched fabrics, lace, beads, ric rac, laundry labels and Suffolk puffs and I've edged ut with buttonhole lace on 2 colours of thread. The case is kept closed using seam binding Tues.
Inside there are 6 leaves made from wool felt, antique linen and a crocheted doily, with the felt and linen edged in blanket stitch. On the inside of the front and back covers there's a lace pocket with a sample card of fabric and lace and another of vintage buttons. The two centre pockets both contain fabric and lace samples. All of the samples, including the buttons, can be used by snipping the threads that hold them to their respective cards.
I have also added a few pins and needles to the other leaves so you just need some thread to get started on your stitching project.
When closed, this needlecase measures 8.5cm (3.25in) wide and 9.5cm (3.75in) tall.
