Item details

I spotted this fabric combination while I was in Porto on my holidays and loved it because it reminds me of the blue and white tiles on so many Portugese buildings.

Full description

Here is a cushion with matching bunting in fresh blue and white quilting cotton which could give a unique look to a little nook or favourite chair.

I made the front of the cushion using 3.5 inch squares of fabric, 12 of spotted fabric and 13 of the coordinating print. I backed it with a layer of woollen fabric, then a layer of lining cotton and then machine stitched with diagonal rows of stitching in white thread to give it a lightly quilted effect.

The reverse is made with very dark blue denim and has an opening across the back which closes with three fabric covered buttons and machine stitched button holes. The inside seams have been machine overlocked and I made the corners slightly rounded.

Measures about 12 inches squares and will arrive complete with a new polyester filled cushion.

The bunting has 11 flags (6 blue, 5 white), stitched into blue tape which I made myself. Front and backs are the same. Flags are placed approx 2 inches apart and would cover about 2.25metres (2.5 yards), then there is about 43cm (17 inches) of tape at each end to tie up.

This item is one of a kind and ready to ship. I usually send out next day using second class postal service in order to keep shipping costs as low as possible, so if you would prefer first class, please get in touch. Item will be wrapped in new tissue paper, while outer packaging may be recycled. I'll combine postage on multiple purchases if possible, so please see my other items and excellent reviews.
