Aventurine is a form of Chalcedony Quartz containing grains of colour-imparting minerals.
It is most commonly found in green, but also in orange, yellow, brown, and, as in this case, blue.
The blue colour comes from inclusions of the mineral dumortierite.
Other well known forms of Chalcedony Quartz are Agate, Carnelian and Onyx.
Blue Kyanite is an Aluminium Silicate mineral, semi-translucent with a rich blue colour, an almost fibrous appearance, and a pearly chatoyancy.
It is associated with loyalty, honesty and serenity.
The natural Chalcedony beads are un-dyed, and a pale periwinkle blue, with a lovely sparkle, accentuated by the shine of sterling silver.

Elegant Blue Aventurine necklace featuring a beautiful 12mm Kyanite teardrop, set between 3.5mm Mother of Pearl and faceted Chalcedony highlighted with tiny 2mm sterling silver spacers.
The Kyanite drop is semi-translucent with a beautiful sheen.
On each side, rows of five 6mm Blue Aventurine beads are separated first with an 8mm iridescent Mother of Pearl star, then a 3.5mm faceted Chalcedony bead highlighted with sterling silver.
The Mother-Of-Pearl beads have a beautiful lustre, and the Chalcedony beads are a pretty light periwinkle blue.
The necklace graduates to 4mm Blue Aventurine dotted with Mother of Pearl.
This handcrafted necklace fastens with a Tibetan silver rose shaped toggle clasp.
