The pepper's strong colouring was sufficient to choose it as a subject but I wanted a smaller companion for it. The complimentary green colour of the lettuce was helpful. Conversation between the two is suggested by the curved stalk.

Full description
Oils on canvasboard, measuring 15 x 15cm (6x6 inches). Unframed.
A bright red pepper cosying up to a small lettuce makes the main subject for this mini still-life oil painting. It will add a splash of colour to any small wall-space.
Lightly varnished. The canvasboard is artist-quality and can be framed by the buyer to suit.
