The Jack in the Green tradition goes back to the 18th century in the UK. The foliate covered Jack, swirls and whirls his way through a procession to celebrate the coming of summer. Parades still take place today on Mayday across the country including those in Deptford, London and Hastings, East Sussex.

Handmade, earthenware ceramic Jack in the Green figurine. Jack is glazed with a matt finish to his face but with a beautiful glossy green coat of leaves and a regal crown!
Jack measures approx.15cm from the top of his crown to the bottom.
