Full description
Each necklace features a large and a small authentic piece of sea tumbled glass with softly rounded edges and a gently frosted surface. The sea glass have been lightly oiled to preserve the "straight from the sea" appearance and bring out the beautiful natural colours. Each piece bears the marks of its ocean journey, with small pits and marks making a unique sea ‘jewel’. These ‘mermaid tears’ are handpicked by me from the rugged shores of the east coast of Scotland.
The accompanying fine silver 'crashing waves' pendant is crafted from reclaimed and recycled silver powder, blended with organic binders to create a precious metal clay. A wax seal stamp is then used to imprint the clay. Left to dry and then fired with a blowtorch, the binders burns off, the powder fuses, and the malleable clay transforms into solid 999 silver. Sustainable and environmentally conscientious jewellery is the end product.
The pendants hang from a 45cm sterling silver belcher/rolo chain with sterling silver bails and findings.
Every necklace is presented in a gift box, ready to be given or kept.
