HISTORY.
The Triumph Herald was a small family car produced from 1959 to 1971 as a rival to the Ford Anglia. It was hampered at the time as Standard Triumph had financial problems and were taken over by Leyland Motors in 1961. There were five body styles, saloon, coupe, convertible, estate and a van version which I've never seen and unusual characteristic of rubber bumpers. This model was the basic version with the 1147cc four cylinder engine although originally it began with a 948cc engine and the uprated version was known as the 12/50 which although it had the same size engine although with an extra 12bhp and a sunroof.
