Full description
This brown hare is posed in a sitting stance. The model has been sculpted using a needle felting technique. Woollen fibres are bound together and sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle. After creating the basic shape using core wool a top coat in appropriate colours is added. The legs have been formed over wire to add strength and stability and wooden dowels used to aid mounting. The eyes are also needle felted and horsehair whiskers have been added. The hare has been mounted on an oval shaped piece of plywood covered in artificial grass. The hare is posed with his head turned slightly to the right.
This hare measures approximately 22cm tall with the oval base measuring 15cm x 9cm.
This is an ornamental sculpture, and is not intended as a toy.
