In a bag of gifted fabric pieces, I discovered a collection of pre-cut quilting squares evocative of spring, along with scraps of fabric perfect for butterflies. The purple backing, also from my stash, meant the fabric cost was minimal. I started the quilt in Autumn 2023, but it was side lined by the sewing machine after a serious fall and hip replacement until I recovered enough to resume. In a way, that was serendipitous, as the quilt seems more fitting for spring than winter.
