Bluebells are an iconic British wild flower often seen in the wild they are an indicator of ancient woodlands. The blue haze when grown on mass is a spectable to see in spring.
I wanted to capture an essence of this within this handcrafted copper foiled panel.
Each piece of glass starts life as clear float glass, then after it is cut to shape I find the magic is within the painting techniques. I have always loved plants, particularly our native wild flowers and the pollinators they support.
I hope this is reflected through my glasswork as I strive to recreate the colours and forms found in Nature.

Full description
A unique Bluebell stained glass panel to grace your window.
This square panel has been designed to reflect the not only the beauty of English Bluebells but also as a reminder that Spring has arrived in our ancient woodlands and gardens.
There are several processes to making a stained glass panel from cutting the glass to applying
colour to the surface of the glass using glass enamels.
Silver Stain has been used on the fronds of the ferns creating golden or copper tones.
The leaves and petals have been scratched back to highlight the veins, allowing light to filter through these areas.
The pieces of glass are then fired in the kiln to make the design permanent.
Pieces can return to the kiln several times, this is a time honoured procedure as the turn around time is 12 hours before the glass can be handled and assessed.
Each piece is then copper foiled, tinned and soldered together to create a square panel.
Handmade copper hoops are added from which the panel can be hung.
Please note that this panel is for interior use only, it is not weatherproof.
This would make a lovely house warming gift, or gift for a gardener or plant enthusiast.
The panel will be Gift Wrapped at no extra cost and sent by Royal Mail Tracked
All pieces are made with love from my garden workshop in Devon.
NB Wash hands after handling as solder contains Lead.
