A Stunningly different alternative hanging wall decoration

1 x 3 medium Flat Oyster shell decoupaged Silk Blue Floral design and hand painted with liquid gold, hand Guilded with Silver and gold metallic leaf.with Turquoise Gemstone chips and glass seed beads

every shell goes through a lengthy process of scraping, cleaning and scrubbing making sure every last remnant and sand is removed, they are then scrupulously rinsed and washed in a dilute solution of bleach and water where they are immersed for a couple of hours making sure any harmful bacteria are killed off, they are then immersed in clean boiling water and rinsed again. where they are then air dried over 24hrs before the next phase begins.

A base layer of heavy titanium white acrylic paint is applied to even out the tone, once dry a hole is then drilled , a layer of modge podge glue is then applied once a design has been settled upon. this is then painstakingly, eased, teased and coaxed into place, then a further layer of glue is applied, they are then left to dry, once dried , the excess is trimmed off with the edges then sandpapered smooth.

Using liquid metallic gold paint I then pick out areas on the design.. once dried .. Epoxy Resin is then mixed up and applied and left to dry over 24/48hrs..

In turn each piece is then hand Guilded with both Silver and Gold Metallic foil sheets.
